Questionmark CEO Eric Shepherd Appointed to
Association of Test Publishers Board of Directors

NORWALK, CT -- April 6, 2009 – Questionmark CEO Eric Shepherd has been appointed to serve on the board of the Association of Test Publishers (ATP).

Shepherd will serve a two-year term of office, presiding along with nine fellow directors, over the nonprofit trade association established in 1992 and headquartered in Washington D.C.

ATP represents providers of tests and assessment tools and/or services related to assessment, selection, screening, certification, licensing, educational or clinical uses. ATP has worked to educate the public and government bodies about the positive contributions that tests, when professionally developed and properly used, can provide to society, while also promoting awareness of and compliance with laws regarding copyrights, trademarks and other intellectual property rights. ATP serves as an advocate for the entire testing community with efforts such as the establishment of professional guidelines, and dissemination of information on advances in test development and delivery.

"ATP is excited about Eric's appointment to the Board,” said ATP Executive Director William G. Harris. “Eric's expertise in technology and global assessment markets will be valuable to the Association as the Board charts ATP's strategic direction."

Shepherd leads Questionmark in providing testing and assessment technologies and services to businesses, awarding bodies, publishers, government agencies, educational institutions and other organizations. He has championed the use of computerized assessments as tools for encouraging and improving the learning process and is recognized as one of the world’s authorities on assessment software.

In addition to his work with Questionmark, Shepherd was instrumental in the development of the Question and Test Interoperability standard, and has advised corporations, government departments, universities, schools and technical standards bodies on the deployment of computerized assessments and conducts seminars and workshops around the world on secure assessment technology.

Shepherd has addressed ATP gatherings as well as the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD), e-Learn Expo (Paris and Moscow), Online Educa (Berlin), TechLearn, International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), League for Innovation, the Computer Aided Assessment Conference (CAA), eLearning Brasil, and many other audiences. Shepherd has also served as the first chairman of the ATP’s European Division when it was started in 2006.
